We were at a loss as to what we might do with a long, narrow garden space running between our newly built garage and our heritage home. We had commissioned a very special cast bronze statue, “Alice” from Alice in Wonderland that we wanted featured in this backyard. We felt comfortable immediately with Matthew. Matthew O’Grady Landscape Designs  undertook a specialised paving job around our 100 year old stone building and an equally old olive Tree. The job was very complicated, given the tree, and that the building does not have any straight walls and was not a ‘normal’ building in any other regard. We were impressed with his care, professionalism and thoughtfullness. The job was completed successfully, on time and to a very high standard. Adding to that, was the creative way the paving was blended into existing older paths and paving areas, using beautiful curves and creative shapes. This was above and beyond our expectations. We are thrilled!

I had a tiny courtyard that badly needed revamping as it was very overgrown. I am no gardener, but I wanted a pretty space to sit in, to dance in, to welcome guests in, and also be low maintenance. I also did not want to go to the trouble and expense of ripping out the pavers already there although they needed some work. Matthew came with great ideas and enthusiasm! I left it all to him after initial consultations.

I simply love my new courtyard! It has a wonderful hand made water feature with a dragon spout – and a matching dragon pot. Splashes of yellow, (my favourite colour) which blends the inside to the outside so well. It’s lit at night, smells delicious, has an irrigation system and a sitting area with enough space to still do a small dance. My guests so admire it, I’m overjoyed! My wife and I engaged Matthew O’Grady Landscape Designs to upgrade two patio areas at our home. The upper patio required the removal of existing plants and post and replacement with fresh new ones which harmonised with the general setting and each other. The second patio located on the ground floor level involved the removal of a hedge which blocked a sea view, replacement of old pavers and a complete redesign of the space with feature plants and trees and a glass wall.

We are delighted with the finished product. We would also acknowledge the efforts of the other members of Matthew’s team, Therese and Adam. It was very pleasing to engage Matthew O’Grady Landscape Designs. We asked them to pave a large area, Matthew recommended Madagascar limestone for both the back yard area and patio area. The team work was outstanding, the preparation of the site excellent. They also did the garden bed water feature as well as designed the plants around it and added lighting. After a few months of plant growth, it now looks magnificent which William and I are very impressed with – we love to show it off to our many visiting friends. Whilst some landscapers I contacted found redesigning and rebuilding my old wooden steep steps in an awkward position at the rear of my steep hillside property difficult, not so for Matthew O’Grady and his team. Matthew suggested masonry blocks and included 2 landings for easier and safer access. This was also aesthetically pleasing. The work carried out was fantastic and to budget.
